(Closed) Book Giveaway: Feed by Mira Grant

CONTEST CLOSED!

I found out about Feed by Mira Grant when I was doing my book blog rounds in my Google Reader. I remember coming across the cover and seeing the RSS logo and thinking, “Oh cool, it’s an RSS logo.”

Then I read the blurb and my next thoughts were:

Blogging…and zombies? OMG AWESOME. I must have this!

I ended up getting the Kindle edition of this book, and I ended up loving it so much that I knew this is one of the books that I would want to have an actual copy of…and because I really, really love it so much and I want someone to talk to about this, I bought two copies of this book so I can hold a *drumroll*book giveaway.

Yes! I figure, One More Page is already six months old, and what better way to celebrate that by giving away one of my favorite books in 2010!

The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.

NOW, twenty years after the Rising, Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives-the dark conspiracy behind the infected. The truth will out, even if it kills them.

18 Thoughts on “(Closed) Book Giveaway: Feed by Mira Grant

  1. Me! I want a free book! :-)

My weapon of choice in the case of a zombie apocalypse is pretty obvious: teh plantz! The cob cannon will kill ’em all. LOL.

  2. Wow, a giveaway! This is the first time that I’ve heard about this book but it looks interesting. If the world is suddenly invaded by zombies, I definitely want a gun with me.

  3. For the heck of it, I’ll answer. If I were to battle numerous zombies, I’d need to have an ax. And practice on my swinging powers. Gonna be gory!

*sings* Coming straight from the heart *splat*

  4. I would love to win this book! Ms. Grant has already written 2 other books and they were a wonderful way to spend a day.

  5. sorry, forgot about my weapon of choice…. phaser. reason…phaser is concentrated heat and light. You don’t need to worry about contamination from infected blood splashing on you. If you are not sure if the person is a zombie set it to stun…if they do not have a central nervous system they will not be affected by the stun. Then just move the setting up and disperse them on a subatomic level.
    ps
I do not live in my parents garage or basement and I am married….
    to a woman….
    and i have kids..
    really i do!

This book is awesome sauce! The bloody rss feed makes me all giddy and happy :D

Anyhoo, my weapon’s a navy ship. Not exactly hand held but it rules out the possibility of them attacking you and eating your brains. Zombies can’t swim so even before they reach the ship, you’re in the middle of the ocean already. Also, the contour of the ship makes it tad hard to climb from the side.

There’s also a lot of storage space in it so you can stock on as much food as you want. Perfect zombie weapon/getaway!

  8. Me! (I’ve been looking for that book ever since a friend told me that it seems to be interesting)

Weapon of choice? I’ll go with Nuclear Bomb. hahahahaha

I’ll come up with a plan that will lead all those zombies in a Island where there’s no human and nuke all of them there.

I would be legendary, the guy who killed all zombies. Hahahaha. Sorry got carried away. ^_^

Aha! If zombies are the enemy, then the ultimate weapon i’d definitely take with me would be…

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Neville (not familiar? do the wiki.).

Can’t go wrong with that. Dude has no heart (except whent it comes to his dog), nothing to lose, and already has lots of experience destroying clusters of the undead SINGLE-HANDEDLY. Plus he takes a very proactive approach in dealing with zombie epidemics -no need to be chased by them as he will do the chasing himself. Like Pac-man on perpetual steroids slamming those ghosts, or Kobe Bryant running after MJ’s legacy, or like that midget GMA finding ways to extend her ter… well, you get the picture.

Plus he’s Will Smith, so expect some jokes and rappin’ along the way. Bring an iPod and a glass of lemonade with you as it’s sure to be an epic destruction of the mindless bogeys.

    Cheers!

  11. Wow! Free Book!

My weapon of choice is Edward Cullen (or any vampire). I heard zombies are challenging vampires for popularity :) Haha!

  12. Hi Tina!

Idk if you remember me! wahahaha. We uh… went to uni together =P

Sige, sali narin ako sa contest mo =)

What would be your weapon of choice in the case of a zombie apocalypse
    – a blowtorch. to kill all those zombies that pass my way goodbye.

would’ve wished them to be aliens tho, if so, i’d call captain jack harkness. he he he.

  14. Hi! Doing the rounds discovering other Pinoy book bloggers.:) Very happy to discover you! And, will join your contest. Because zombies are the new vampires.:)

Weapon of choice–shotgun with unlimited ammo. ‘Cause, let’s face it, it’s the ammo you really need.:)

  17. i know the contest is closed and all, but i can’t help myself. it’s a zombie-related question–and i must answer! it’s a compulsion.

anyway, if there were a zombie epidemic, what you would really want with you is a pick-ax–provided you have had enough training with it. it’s a two-in-one, a blunt object on one end, and a sharp one on the other. and you must always aim for the noggin–get it before it gets you.

or you could always use a baseball bat. wood, preferably. and durable. because, seriously, in a zombie apocalypse, would you really have time to learn how to use a gun if you don’t already know how to use one? you might just end up as zombie chow.

here’s a book i’d suggest if you’re into zombies: the zombie survival guide by max brooks. world war z is equally as informative (and entertaining). it tackles the zombie subject as if there really is a possibility of an outbreak. and you can never be too safe. *wink*
