Bookish Tumblring

I have a couple of books that I need to write reviews for, but I’m just really in a lazy mood to blog, even if there’s not much work. I don’t think it’s just me — some of my other blogger friends are going to a blogging slump. I’ve been blogging for so long already that this isn’t a strange or new thing for me anymore. I try not to pressure myself in blogging since I do this for fun. I do feel a teensy bit guilty though, not enough to have me pressured, but enough to make me think of something to post.

Enter Tumblr.

I’ve had a Tumblr account for a very long time now, but I’ve only been active in it as of late. There’s so many cool stuff to look at there, especially nice pictures. I don’t really read much in Tumblr, I look. It’s so easy to post pictures in tumblr, and so many people post that it’s also just so easy to look! Dogs, cats, TV show screencaps, memes galore in Tumblr, but one of my favorites (obviously) are the book-related posts. :)

Like these:

Okay this says the girl is really studying, but hey, it could just be reading, you know. The stars around her made me like this instantly. Can I has the same for my room?

Really, really pretty. :) I’m curious about that guy.

Bookmark idea! Not that I don’t have a ton of bookmarks already, but this looks nice. :) It’s also a nice way to leave notes in books, don’t you think?

If you don’t know which book this line came from…well, you should. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is one of my favorite books. :)

Everything looks so pretty here — the lights, the pages of the book, the hand, the fallen leaf on the side.

It took me a while to figure out the two people in the picture, but when I did, I just had to smile. Tangled was such a cute movie. I can’t remember if this was an actual scene in the movie, though, but regardless, this is cute. :)

I’ve been addicted to trying to learn to do my own manicures lately (because paying someone to do them all the time is too expensive, with my track record of keeping my nail polish chip-free), so anything that has pictures of manicured nails get a like from me on Tumblr. That one above reminds me of something I wanted to do on my bedroom walls. If I can’t do it on my walls, can I do it on my nails? I want to try. :)

There are a lot of book/reading-related tumblrs, and it’s so fun going through their archives to see what photos and lines and treasures they held before I started following them. There are some Bookfessions (confessions/thoughts of a book lover) and photos of pretty, pretty bookshelves. There are even some Hot Guys Reading Books there (although I don’t think all of them are hot. Some are cute, though :p). Some authors also have their Tumblrs, namely John Green! When I was new to this, I couldn’t understand how this could eat up so much of people’s time…but now I think I actually get it. LOL.

So, do you have a tumblr? You can follow me here if you want (but I must warn you, not all posts are book-related). If you do, what are your favorites? :) Share them in the comments!

  1. Yay, I love pretty pictures. And OMG, I must make that bookmark! Do I have square paper anywhere? *runs off*.

  2. That’s why I love Tumblr. I see lots of eye candy photos and I’m always updated to cool stuff. Not to mention the reblogging part! :)

    • I love reblogging! I have to stop myself from reblogging too much when doing my Tumblr rounds. :D

  3. Tumblr is so much fun, isn’t it? I keep wondering why it took me so long to sign up. Now I keep telling people, “sign up for tumblr!” I think the Tangled picture isn’t an actual scene but a promotional picture? Love the nail design with text, wish I could do that to my nails.

    • I saw a tutorial on how to do newspaper nails, and strangely enough, it needs vodka. I’ll have to get some gray or white polish to try that one time. :D
