[Closed] One More Page – Anniversary Giveaway

One More Page Anniversary Giveaway

NOTE: This giveaway is closed! Thanks to everyone who joined. :-) Winners were announced here. :)

It’s Christmas Eve in my part of the world! :) I think I just about survived the most hectic Christmas season ever with parties, work and a wedding to attend, so now that things are winding down, it’s time to up some things here in the blog. :)

Other bloggers have set up their gratitude/Christmas/what-have-you giveaways in the past weeks, and I am kind of joining the bandwagon. My blog is about to celebrate its first anniversary in a couple of weeks (on January 9, to be exact), so what better way to celebrate that and Christmas (well, an extended reason to celebrate, anyway) than a book giveaway? :D Presenting:

One More Page Anniversary GiveawayOne More Page Anniversary Giveaway! I never really thought I’d be able to keep a niche blog for this long, and I have met so many people, read so many books and learned so many new things that I am really, really grateful. As a thank you to everyone who’s left comments, visited and followed my blog, I will be giving away copies of the following books:

I want to make this giveaway interactive, so instead of just making you fill out a form and making you do so many other things, all you need to do to enter this giveaway is leave a comment. Leave a comment in every entry from now up to January 9, 2011, and every comment will count as an entry to the giveaway. You can leave multiple comments on an entry, especially if it’s a discussion post. :) The more comments you leave, the more entries you get, and we will have meaningful conversations, too! :P

I will pick two winners at random: one in the Philippines and one international*. Winners get to pick one of the books listed above**. :)

Easy-peasy, right? :)

Again!

  • Contest runs starting today up to January 9, 2011
  • Every comment left starting this post up to January 9, 2011 will count as an entry to the contest (unless otherwise stated in the comment)***.
  • Two winners will be chosen at random (random.org), one in the Philippines and one international*
  • Winners get to pick one of the books listed above as their prize**

Alrightie then! Looking forward to hear from everyone! :)

* As long as Book Depository ships to your country
** In case the winner already has all of the books, they can pick any book worth $15 from Book Depository
*** I reserve the right not to include comments that are irrelevant to the entry or comments that are left just to leave a comment and nothing else. Again, one of the purposes of the contest is to encourage interaction, so meaningful/relevant comments, please. :)

Win a signed Personal Demons ARC

I’ve been joining book giveaway contests left and right now, and until now I haven’t won anything. :( But I guess that’s what happens when good books are up for grabs, everyone gets excited and more people join and…well, hey, most of the time, it’s all about luck.

So here’s another one in hopes to get lucky! :)

Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers

Last Wednesday, my WoW entry was Lisa DesrochersPersonal Demons. The first chapter excerpt was awesome and exciting (I am liking Luc already!), so now I can’t wait. So now I want to win that book.

Ergo, this blog post.

So yay! Lisa Desrochers is giving away a signed ARC of Personal Demons (as well as other books) for the month of July! Just leave a comment on this entry before noon July 30 (PST) — a question, a comment, say hi.

Here’s hoping I win it this time. :D Don’t forget, go visit this entry and leave a comment at this entry before July 30 to get a chance to win Personal Demons! If you win and I know you personally, can I borrow your copy? ;)

OMP 2010 Halfway Checkpoint

What do you know, it’s July! It’s the second half of 2010 — I echo everyone with what they’re saying: where did time go?

I thought I’d take a break from the scheduled Sample Fridays and instead, do the (obligatory) halfway checkpoint for my 2010 challenges, things that happened (as far as my reading habits and books are concerned) and plans for the next half of the year. I originally planned to post this Wednesday, but alas, I have no access to Internet or even a linksys router anywhere.

BUT FIRST! Time to announce the winner of my Feed book giveaway! Thanks to everyone who joined this first giveaway — I had so much fun reading your answers! I was kind of worried that I wouldn’t be able to get people to join this (but come on, who doesn’t want a free book?), and I even got…well, questioned with my choice of a giveaway. :o But nevertheless, I’m just happy to be able to share one of my favorite books to someone.

So, using Random.org List Randomizer, I put the names, and the extra entries, and the winner of Feed is…*drumroll*

HONEY

Congratulations! She did not only leave a comment, but she tweeted this contest too — so multiple entries do count. :D Her weapon of choice in case of a zombie apocalypse: shotgun with unlimited ammo. That’s a good choice — just make sure to aim for the head to kill them fast!

I’ll be sending you an email about shipping and stuff I make this post. :D

* * *

Now onto the 2010 halfway checkpoint. Here are my 2010 statistics as of June 30:

  • 50 out of 100 books in 2010
  • 26 out of 20 (!) fantasy books
  • 2 out of 10 classic novel
  • 7 out of 20 for Project 20:10
  • 2 out of 12 in TBR challenge
  • 43 books reviewed

Paranormal 5 Giveaway

The Simon and Schuster UK’s Big Fat YA giveaway has come and gone, and sadly, I didn’t win. But no worries, it seems like a lot of people are giving away books, including Reggie of The Undercover Book Lover (Not Really)! Her Paranormal 5 Giveaway is the most delicious giveaway I’ve seen yet — I’m not kidding. I mean, just look. She’s giving away ARCs of:

Plus 5 packs of gum!

That list contains two of my Waiting on Wednesday entries! And three other awesome books that are yet to be released! And gum! Yes, we musn’t forget the gum. :)

The best part? This is open to international entries — that means even I have a chance of winning. :)

The contest is open up to July 15, that’s more than enough time to send your entries in. Go, go, go!

Oh, and Feed giveaway is still ongoing, so residents of the Philippines, if you haven’t entered yet, you have until June 30 to enter!

(Closed) Book Giveaway: Feed by Mira Grant

CONTEST CLOSED!

I found out about Feed by Mira Grant when I was doing my book blog rounds in my Google Reader. I remember coming across the cover and seeing the RSS logo and thinking, “Oh cool, it’s an RSS logo.”

Then I read the blurb and my next thoughts were:

Blogging…and zombies? OMG AWESOME. I must have this!

I ended up getting the Kindle edition of this book, and I ended up loving it so much that I knew this is one of the books that I would want to have an actual copy of…and because I really, really love it so much and I want someone to talk to about this, I bought two copies of this book so I can hold a *drumroll*book giveaway.

Yes! I figure, One More Page is already six months old, and what better way to celebrate that by giving away one of my favorite books in 2010!
